Bursaries and Scholarships

The Bishop’s Company administers several awards each year to people completing theological studies leading to ordination.

George & Eileen Carey Bursary

The George & Eileen Carey Bursary was established in 2002 on the occasion of their visit to Toronto to recognize their contribution to the life of the Anglican Church. This bursary is awarded to Anglicans pursuing post-graduate theological studies.

Terence & Alice Jean Finlay Award

The Terence & Alice Jean Finlay Bursary was presented for the first time in 2005 to honour the retirement of Archbishop Terence Finlay. The bursary is given to two students, one each from Trinity and Wycliffe Colleges, who are engaged in studies that celebrate and enhance our understanding of the diversity of our Church.

The Kirubai Scholarship

The Kirubai Scholarship is awarded to a Trinity College divinity student with an area of specialization in liturgy and worship.

W.R. Kay Memorial Fund

The William Kay Bursary is awarded in memory and recognition of the dedication of Bill Kay, a long-time member of St. John, York Mills and one of the founders of the Bishop’s Company. The bursary aids students who are engaged in theological education that will lead to ordination.
